Why Pop Smoke was an ISFP
I saw a forum argument once on people arguing what type the late rapper Pop Smoke was. Specifically an ESTP and an ISTP were arguing that he was one of them. When you listen to his music it is understandable; he has a very rough style that pairs well with his bass voice. But this is why he was actually an ISFP:
1. He was an introvert. His mother said he was always very quiet and that she didn't even know his voice was so low until she heard his raps. She thought it was artificially done in the studio. You can confirm this by watching his interviews and seeing if he (majority of the time) opens new threads (extrovert) and steers the conversation, or if he responds and usually stays on topic (introvert).
2. He was a Te-Se user. How many times does he speak on clothes and brand names. All rappers speak about money but what really gets me is, in his interview on Feb 7 2020 with Angie Martinez, he says that whoever is with him is going to stay busy. That he has the money if they want to open a restaurant etc that is Te business mind. 50cent said of him when they were in the studio that he would write down all the advice he was given (Te). And again, his mother said that he was always researching on his computer (Te). Se is evident.
So with those two things alone (introversion and the Se-Te axis') we can see he is either INTJ or ISFP.
3. He was ISFP because of his control interaction style. If you look at the difference between the two, INTJs are triple movement types (see CS Joseph's "4 sides of the mind on youtube). This means that they are always looking for progress. ISFPs, on the other hand are control types meaning they move much more slowly as they are focused on outcome ("wait"... in pop's voice). For more on this see my post on how to type via interaction styles https://mbticelebtypes.blogspot.com/2021/01/how-to-type-part-1-interaction-styles.html.
So there you have it: Introvert + Se-Te + Control interaction style = ISFP.
