The Fernández Dynasty Typed

In Mexico, the biggest family in the musical genre of Mariachi (well, along with the Aguilar family) is the Fernández.  A quick genealogy of this music of Mexico, dating back to the greats Jorge Negrete, Pedro Infante, and Javier Solís, comes Vicente Fernández known as "el numero uno" or number one in English.  While his three predecessors had unfortunate early deaths, Vicente has had a long and prosperous career of over 50 years.  His son Alejandro Fernández has also enjoyed a long career spanning 30 years already in Mariachi/Pop and now there is the third generation in the line; Alex jr.  He has just started so we shall see how it goes, but I'd expect that it will go well even in the shadows of his family who are already legends (for context, it might be as if Lisa Marie-Presley had just as big a career as Elvis and then had a child who was starting their career).

These names are well known in Mexican house holds by the generations.  I was watching an interview by chance of the 3 Fernandez one night when their types jumped out at me.  For me as a a Templar (INFJ) I find it interesting that all three of them are Templars (beta quadra) given that my mother and grandmother were also (both ISTP's).  Also, even though I enjoy music a lot, it is no surprise from my type.  But I was for some reason surprised to find out Vicente was an ISTP (I mean, shouldn't they be using hammers or something lol jk).  Come to find out, there are many ISTP pop stars including Harry Styles, Justin Bieber, Haley Williams and Avril Lavigne; now add Vicente Fernández...not too shabby a list.  Sing out ISTPs!

So yeah, this was a pleasant surprise to me as both a long time fan of Alejandro and being of a similar family typology/genealogy.  Here is the interview I typed them with followed by their more recent hits:

Vicente Fernández - ISTP - Un millón de primaveras (a million springtime's)

Alejandro Fernández - ESTP - Caballero (gentleman)

Alex Fernández jr - INFJ - Te Amaré (I will love you)

Perhaps I will type the Aguilar family (Pepe is an ISFP) but for now here is one of the two main dynasties.  Also, there are so many legends to type but I will release them as them come trickling in in both the Latin and American markets (as that is my heritage); or in any market really.  It is fascinating to see how types reflect cross-culturally.  16 types. 1 world. Peace!
